Powerful Parenting Resource
Common Sense Media
Being a parent often means making tough decisions in regards to our children. In today's digitally rich environment, we (and the kids) are faced with choices about movies, video games, e-books, apps, and social media. Don't simply rely on your own "common sense" to make tough decisions, turn to CommonSenseMedia.org. It will empower you to make an informed decision about whether or not to allow your child to read/watch/play a book, movie, video game, app, website, etc.
"Common Sense Media is dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in a world of media and technology. We'll give you the scoop on the latest entertainment and tech so YOU can decide what's right for YOUR kid. As an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, we're here for you." http://www.commonsensemedia.org/

FREE Reading & Math Program
Texas Success Reading and Math ProgramsTexas SUCCESS provides state-funded access to interactive math and reading programs for Texas public school students in grades 3-8. Istation Reading is an online reading program that includes engaging, interactive content in a game-like format. Think Through Math is an online, interactive math program that includes live bilingual tutors to engage and assist students to strengthen their math skills. Both programs deliver appropriate curriculum, tailored to each student's abilities. Meaningful reporting tools are available in both programs that inform teachers and parents when an intervention is needed or confirms that the student is on the right path.
