2015-2018 Aledo ISD Strategic Plan
Aledo ISD develops a district-wide strategic plan every three years. This process began in February 2015 when the Board of Trustees revised the Board priorities and the Plan on A Page. Approximately 90 stakeholders; parents, teachers, staff members, community members, and business partners met to develop the following draft of the 2015-2018 District Strategic Plan. Three district-wide committee meetings were held in March and April to determine the final goals for each Board priority area. Please visit the District website, District Information tab, 2015-2018 Strategic Plan, to review all of the meeting documents.
The draft 2015-2018 District Strategic Plan is now open for public review and comment. This feedback period will be from Monday, April 20th through May 8th. Please send your feedback, questions, or suggestions to Lynn McKinney at email@example.com.
Did you attend Parenting University in March?
Aledo ISD offered two Parenting University workshops on Monday, March 23, 2015. Scott Kessel, Director of Student Services, presented a session on "College Planning" and April Riley, Instructional Technology Specialist, presented "Raising Screenagers." You can find their presentations and resources shared during both sessions on the Parenting University webpage.
Aledo ISD Goes Google
Aledo ISD Goes Google
Aledo ISD is partnering with Google Apps for Education (GAFE), a FREE suite of secure tools. Through the implementation of Google Apps for Education and in compliance with Aledo ISDs Acceptable Use Procedures, students will have ongoing opportunities to submit and receive assignments electronically, collaborate on group projects in real-time from any internet connected device, as well as build an electronic portfolio of their school learning experiences. Read the Parent Information Flyer that went home in the first six weeks report cards here.
Visit the Frequently Asked Questions webpage for Parents.
If you have concerns about your child's GAFE account, please complete this form.
Know the Lingo
Do you feel like your children are speaking a foreign language? More importantly, do you know what all of the apps are for on their phone or tablet?
Take a look at this Digital Glossary from Common Sense Media to see how many new words you can learn! It will also help you better understand the lingo of today's digital-aged children, as well as have a better understanding behind the various apps your child uses with his/her friends.
School Fusion Parent Accounts
Create a School Fusion Account
Aledo ISD uses School Fusion to host district and campus websites. Anyone can view classroom, campus, and district webpages without an account. However, there are many benefits to having a School Fusion parent account such as receiving email notifications when teachers and administrators post announcements on their webpages. To learn how to create a School Fusion account, watch this quick tutorial video and then complete the required information on the Registration Form.
(NOTE: You will need your student's date of birth and six digit student ID number in order to create an account.)
Find out more about School Fusion parent accounts, as well as other important Aledo ISD accounts on the Parents Need to Know webpage.
